RLWL Stands For Remote Location Waiting List and is one of the multiple booking statuses that can be assigned to the passenger booking a ticket. It is issued to those passengers who book tickets in the waiting list category for travel between two remote stations.
Here, remote stations refer to any stations between the starting and the ending point of the train’s route. If you book any tickets in the waiting list status with either the starting or the ending station as a part of your journey, then it will be booked as a PQWL ticket.
How to Book An RLWL Ticket?
Any ticket which is not confirmed during the booking process has the status of the waiting list. do the tickets of RLWL status or something one would not be preferred as his first choice.

Suppose that you book a ticket for a journey from Delhi to Bhopal on a certain train. How To Check RLWL Status in IRCTC?
There is no special method or requirement to check and RLWL ticket’s status. all the tickets booked through IRCTC’s portal or agents can be reviewed with the help of the PNR number given to you at the time of booking the ticket. You can use both IRCTC PNR checking service or use any other independent third party service provider.
How to Know RLWL Is Confirmed?
In order to check if RLWL ticket has been confirmed or not, you need to enter your PNR number at any PNR status providing website like the ones which we have mentioned above. After you do so, you need to check if your current booking status shows CNF or RAC.
If you can see either of these two, you can travel by train as your ticket has been accepted. Cnf means you will be given a normal berth, where is in RAC status you will be given one of the two seats on the other side of the compartment like the one in the picture below.
If you are not able to find any of these two, the new ticket has not been confirmed yet, unfortunately.
It is important to know that unlike GNWL, the RLWL booking status only turns to RAC or CNF when another person or persons who booked a ticket for boarding the same train as yours from the same station, cancel his ticket. Due to this, the RLWL is given list priority then GNWL and have fewer chances of getting confirmed.
When Does RLWL Charts Get Prepared?
Every station that a particular train stops at is assigned a certain number of seats in the form of a quota for that particular station. Also, every one of these stations is required to prepare a chart of their own about passenger details, 2-3 hours before the train departs from its origin station.
If your ticket is not confirmed before the preparation of the charts, then it will be canceled automatically by the railway authorities and a refund for your money will be initiated by them.
